MEfA Montessori School is a fully inclusive school for children of all abilities and learning styles.
What does MEfA do?
MEfA assists the education of all children, including children with autism and conditions related to autism, through methods of learning and education developed by Dr. Maria Montessori and in connection with this:
- we provide advice and support to families, carers and schools for children with autism;
- we provide information, advisory and advocacy services, training, day services, education, leisure and recreation for children with autism, and we support other making similar provision;
- we promote, conduct and engage in research into autism, and we publish the useful results of such research;
- we collect and disseminate information relating to autism and we exchange such information with other bodies having similar objects.
Our Montessori School Classes
MEfA Montessori School is a fully inclusive class for children of all abilities and learning styles. Research shows that very early indications of learning difficulties are best resolved by interventions at an early age.
Most parents attend with their children - as a result they are in a very good position to reflect on our activities and develop similar opportunities at home.
Special emphasis is given to sensory awareness and integration, postural control, and social, communication and language development.
It can be fast paced and exciting! Our students, many of whom have been with us since they were babies, are forging ahead with their education, but they, and their parents, still love our very specific support.
We enjoy puzzles, strategy games, math conundrums, grammar quandries and etymology indoors, and also a variety of nature and loose parts activities in our Forest School outdoors. If astronomy, geology, natural history or gemstones are your child's go to - we have it covered!
Children aged between 24 months and 11 years are invited with their parents to Montessori School classes as follows:
