​Baby Montessori and Toddler Montessori

Why Montessori?

Baby Montessori*: Babies aged 0 - 18 months:

MEfA Baby Montessori sessions are on Wednesday afternoons from 13.30-14.30 during term time at Montessori House in Blackheath, London. 

The sessions, which babies attend with a parent/carer, focus on early intervention activities to promote healthy social, sensory and communication skills:
  • watching body language
  • listening to conversations, stories, rhymes and singing
  • taking turns and sharing toys
  • developing balance, hand and eye coordination, concentration and independence using specially designed Baby Montessori activities

*There is a small charge of £6.00 per Baby per class with a 50% reduction for siblings

Toddler Montessori*: Children aged 16 - 36 months: 

Children move on to the MEfA Toddler Montessori sessions between 16 - 24 months. The classes are held on Thursdays from 09:30 - 10.30 during term-time, at Montessori House in Blackheath, London.

A special focus is given to the social, communication and physical development of our toddlers in our prepared Montessori environment which invites curiosity and experimentation whilst building confidence and independence:
  • developing confidence, self-control, independence and concentration
  • developing balance, core strength and hand-eye coordination
  • listening to stories. rhymes and early number songs 
  • using musical instruments
  • specially designed Toddler Montessori activities


*There is a small charge of £11.00 per Toddler ​per class with a 50% reduction for siblings

Volunteers are welcome as observers but you will need an enhanced CRB/DBS check which we can organise for you.
